3-Ingredient Cornflake Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients

6 cups cornflake cereal

1 cup creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup honey

Directions

1. Lightly grease an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch glass baking dish, or line it with parchment paper for easier lifting and slicing.

2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, stir the peanut butter and honey together until smooth, melted, and fully combined. Do not let it boil.

3. Place the cornflakes in a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm peanut butter honey mixture over the cereal and gently fold until the cornflakes are evenly coated.

4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared dish and press it down gently into an even layer. Try not to crush the cereal too much so the bars keep their crisp texture.

5. Let the bars cool and firm up at room temperature for about 1 hour, or refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes until set. Cut into squares and serve.

Variations & Tips

For easier slicing: Let the bars cool completely before cutting, and use a lightly greased knife or parchment lining to help lift them out neatly.

For chunkier texture: Use chunky peanut butter if your family likes a little extra crunch. It gives the bars a heartier bite while keeping the recipe just as simple.

For allergy needs: If peanut butter is not an option in your home, try a sunflower seed butter substitute. The flavor will change a bit, but the bars will still hold together nicely.

For party trays: Cut these into smaller bite-size squares since they are rich. This is a great way to stretch one pan for potlucks, bake sales, and block parties.

Storage tip: Keep the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. If stacking, place parchment paper between layers so they do not stick together.
