Amish Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

For the Peanut Butter Filling:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Topping:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter.
    • Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust.
    • Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until it is lightly golden. Let it cool completely.
  2. Make the Peanut Butter Filling:
    • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the peanut butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
    • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and beat again until everything is well combined.
    • Fold in the whipped topping until smooth and light.
    • Pour this mixture over the cooled graham cracker crust and spread it out evenly. Chill in the refrigerator while you make the chocolate topping.
  3. Make the Chocolate Topping:
    • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
    • Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and melted.
    • Let the chocolate mixture cool for about 5 minutes, then pour it evenly over the peanut butter filling.
  4. Chill and Serve:
    • Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours (or longer) until the chocolate topping is set and the pie is firm.
    • Slice, serve, and enjoy!
