Materials

• 3–4 mm crochet hook
• Cream/off-white cotton cord or chunky cotton yarn
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Optional: cotton fabric for a lining
• Optional: magnetic snap
• The exact number depends on how large you make them.

• The flowers should overlap/touch slightly, rather than leaving large gaps.

   3. Join the flowers

  Place two flowers together and use cream yarn to slip stitch or single crochet throughcorresponding loops around their edges.

  For the little spaces between flowers, crochet small chains:

  sc → ch 3 → sc → ch 3 → sc

  This creates the open lace/netting visible between the flowers in your picture.

   4. Shape the bag

  Make two identical floral panels.

  Join the panels along:

  • both sides
  • the bottom

  Leave the top open.

  Then crochet one or two rounds of single crochet around the top edge to make it stronger.

   5. Handles

  For each handle, make a long chain approximately 50–60 cm long.

  Work several rows of tight single crochet over thechain until the strap is about 2–3 cm wide.

  Attach each end securely to the inside/top of the bag.

  For the look in your photo, make the handles long and relatively narrow.

   Finishing

  Wash/block the finished bag gently and let it dryflat. This will open up the lace and make the flowers look much more like the photograph.

  Tip: The most important part for getting this exact aesthetic is using cotton cord rather than fluffy acrylic yarn. The cord gives those crisp, raised flower outlines.

For a bag approximately 30 cm wide × 28 cmtall, expect roughly 500–700 g of yarn/corddepending on thickness.

 1. Make the flower motifs

Each flower is made separately.

Center

1. Make a magic ring.
2. Crochet 8–10 single crochets (sc) into the ring.
3. Pull the ring closed and slip stitch to join.

Inner petals
4. Chain 3, then work several double crochets (dc) into the same stitch.
5. Slip stitch into the next stitch to form a petal.
6. Repeat around until you have 5–6 small petals.

Large outer petals
7. Attach yarn between the inner petals.
8. For each large petal, chain 8–10.
9. Work several elongated double/treble stitches around the chain to create the open, lacy petal shape.
10. Slip stitch back down and repeat around.
